Plum Forest farm on Vashon Island is fully staffed for the 2025 farm season. Our crew are individuals that love farming and enjoy physical work outdoors with a community of plant-loving people.

We are a small-scale diversified vegetable, fruit and livestock farm providing food for the Vashon Island community. We are Certified USDA Organic and Real Organic. We have been growing food here since 1999 and are committed to practices that sustain both the land and those who tend it. We grow a variety of high quality mixed vegetables and fruit, raise chickens for eggs and meat and tend a small herd of Scottish highland cattle. We have been making our own compost for over two decades. We sell all of our produce through our on-farm stand and to an island restaurant.

We use a minimally mechanized production style, including tasks that can be physically demanding. We are looking for folks that want to be outside moving their bodies and working with others. We offer opportunities for every team member to do all the types of work, thereby providing a holistic opportunity for folks to develop skills and gain knowledge about what it takes make a living growing food for one’s community. Vashon has several farms, with a culture of collaboration, and also an active community food access program.

We work three days per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the main season and fewer days in the off season. Farm days usually run from 8-4 or 9-5 with a lunch break. We also share morning livestock chores on a rotating basis. We aim to observe and prioritize the sustainability of our practices not only for the health of our soil but also the health of our farmers. Subsidized on farm housing is available for one person

Hourly pay base rate depends on experience. Team members eat farm food.
